It’s about that time that I start documenting all the cool places that we get to go to now that we live in Paris. Specifically the food. Because we try a looooooot of new places and yesterday took us to Frenchie To Go (FTG), the little brother resto of Frenchie.
This spot is perfectly situated in the 2nd, so easily accessible between your Louvre art-hopping and your Marais shopping, and the perfect break for some energy-producing soul food right in the heart of Paris (exactly what you need after 3 hours in a museum, right?).
PJ actually showed me this spot specifically in August. I then found it again on the list of a blogger I follow and begged PJ to go for our 7-year anniversary (not sure I’ll ever stop celebrating that one), and then happened to walk by it again yesterday so we stopped in!
It’s definitely not the same food that you’ll find at Frenchie, and we classified it pretty perfectly as gourmet hangover food. I had the Reuben meal which came with a choice of sides and a drink, while PJ took the fried chicken meal, and I think it’s safe to say we were beyond satisfied.
I’m not a huge coleslaw fan but – oh my word – everything about this sandwich was crazy good. The fried chicken had a slightly sweet glaze and was beautifully soft inside, which some added jalapenos for bite! Add a side of guac mayo and we were in heaven.
If you’re visiting Paris and you’re in need of a little slice of home (talking to you, Southern US folks), I would definitely add Frenchie To Go to your list. You won’t be disappointed.
Have you been to FTG? Have any other recommendations like it that we should add to our (60+) restaurant list? Let me know!
